A 35-year-old woman was found dead inside a guest room at a five-star hotel along Scotts Road, near the Newton area in Singapore, in the early hours of Monday, 18 May 2026.

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that it had received a report of an unnatural death at the location. Preliminary investigations have ruled out foul play, although the case remains under investigation.

According to a report by Shin Min Daily News, the publication had been alerted by a member of the public who said that several police vehicles were seen parked outside the hotel at around 1am that morning.

The tipster told the Chinese-language daily that the sight of police vehicles at the hotel's entrance in the middle of the night appeared ominous. He was quoted as saying that the scene gave him a sense that something serious had occurred.

Photographs supplied to Shin Min Daily News showed three police cars stationed at the hotel's passenger drop-off area, including a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) vehicle. The atmosphere outside the hotel was described as tense.

The hotel, situated along Scotts Road in the Newton area, lies within Singapore's main shopping and hospitality belt off Orchard Road. The stretch hosts several high-end hotels and serviced residences.
