Category A COE premium hits record S$129,000 in latest bidding exercise
Singapore's Category A Certificate of Entitlement premium reached a record S$129,000 on 8 July 2026, surpassing the previous high set in October 2025, while Category B and commercial vehicle premiums also climbed.

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums rose across all vehicle categories in Singapore's latest bidding exercise on 8 July 2026, with Category A and commercial vehicle COEs both reaching new record highs amid continued strong demand.
The premium for Category A cars, which covers smaller and less powerful passenger vehicles, closed at S$129,000. The result marked a new all-time high, exceeding the previous record of S$128,105 set in October 2025.
The latest premium also represented an increase from S$123,847 recorded in the previous bidding exercise.
Category B COEs, which apply to larger and more powerful passenger cars, also recorded a sharp increase.
Premiums in the category rose to S$130,889 from S$123,502 in the previous exercise, representing an increase of nearly 6 per cent.
Commercial vehicle COEs, covering goods vehicles and buses, climbed to S$95,000.
The figure was also a record for the category and represented a 2.15 per cent increase from the previous bidding exercise.
Motorcycle COE premiums continued their upward trend.
They closed at S$10,201, compared with S$9,989 in the previous exercise.
Open Category COEs, which can be used to register any vehicle type but are predominantly used for larger passenger cars, also edged higher.
Premiums in the category increased by 0.62 per cent to S$129,801, up from S$129,002 previously.
The latest exercise attracted strong participation from bidders.
A total of 4,950 bids were submitted for 3,214 available COEs, indicating demand continued to exceed the available quota.
